Brian and Donna have been a team for more than 25 years. They have been visiting Mexico for almost 20 of those years for quick seven day all-inclusive junkets in destinations such as La Paz, Ixtapa and Loreto, two-week visits to the Caribbean side on Isla Mujeres and, since 2010, to Bucerias north of Puerto Vallarta for stays of up to two months.
For the past eight years, Brian and Donna lived in Campbell River on Vancouver Island, BC, where Donna continued her career as a human resources specialist and workshop facilitator at North Island College, and Brian was semi-retired but still in demand for his wordsmithing with a small group of valued clients.
In January 2017, they decided it was time for an “extended” adventure in Bucerias and, almost certainly, other Mexican destinations. So, after a year of careful planning and preparation, off they headed with 10 year Canadian passports and temporary Mexican resident visas that can be renewed for up to four years.
Through “South of 20” Brian and Donna plan to share their experiences and knowledge of living in Mexico with other snowbirds keen to step it up a notch or two.
